Getting here
We appreciate that you will be travelling quite a way to get to us. We have tried to set out as many options as possible, all of which are relatively hassle-free. If you have any questions, please just ask and we can point you in the right direction.
Your final destination will be Pierrevert (the nearest village to the venue) or Manosque (the nearest town to the venue), depending on where your accommodation is. The key with travel is booking early - getting to the region can be really reasonable if sorted in advance.
The best way to get here is via train or plane. Trains go to Aix en Provence and our nearest airport is Marseille.
Travelling by plane
In the summer, there are seven flights a day from London, three from Stansted (Ryanair) and four from Heathrow (BA). They can be found here.
You will notice that flights are much cheaper if you depart on a Wednesday or Thursday.
Travelling by train
Travelling via train is a great option.
First, you will need to take the Eurostar from St Pancras to Gare du Nord. You can only book tickets up to 120 days in advance (this will be 7 March 2025).
You will then need to take a 20 minute taxi ride across Paris to the TGV station at Gare de Lyon. Only use the official taxi rank - they will charge a fixed fare of EUR 20. Do not accept the offer of a moped - this is a con!
At Gare de Lyon, you will board the TGV to Aix en Provence. Aix en Provence is about a 45 minute journey to Pierrevert and Manosque.
In the summer months, the Eurostar does have a limited direct services from St Pancras to Avignon, Aix and Marseille. However, this is very limited post-Brexit.
Getting to the venue
We recommend renting a car for onward travel from airports/train stations. By car, the venue is about an hour from Marseille and 45 minutes from Aix.
You will need to book rental cars in advance and ensure that the car hire vendors are open when you plan to arrive. If you would like to share a hire car with other guests on your flight, we can help arrange this for you - get in touch with Ella or Ben!
Public transport is also available, but should be very carefully planned in advance. There are straightforward routes from Marseille and Aix en Provence.
Alternatively, you can get a taxis. However, these will be expensive, so again please let us know if this is your plan, please join the taxi pool WhatsApp group.
Transport whilst you're here
We have given you some suggestions of where to stay, close to the venue, under the 'Staying here' tab.
On Friday and Saturday, if you're staying at or near these suggested locations, we have arranged transport to and from the venue. We will provide further details nearer the time.
If you are choosing to stay a little further away do let us know, we can give you the contact details of a local taxi company so that you can arrange your own transport.
Please bear in mind that Provence can quickly become very rural and remote - it's best to stay as close to our suggested locations as possible.
